New Sash Windows
We handcraft new wooden sash windows to match any original profile, covering North Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire and Liverpool.
Have your old sliding sash windows become worn and are losing heat then why not consider replacing them with our new wooden sash windows. Sash windows can give a property that traditional look whether it is replacement of original sash windows or giving your property a whole new look.
The advantages of replacing old sash windows with new is that it will help reduce outside noise, give better security and will be energy-saving. It will give your property a classic period appearance particularly in areas where all the houses have retained a traditional style of window; you can keep the period look with all the added advantages as mentioned.
If your property does come under the heading of listed or heritage you may still be allowed to replace with new but this would have to be in discussion with planning and other heritage officers and we have many solutions to these problems but if you are not allowed new please look at our other services which include rot repairs and draught proofing.
All our new wooden sliding sash windows are hand crafted in our joinery workshop and are fully draught proofed, and come with either single or slimlite double glazing, or if required reproduction crown glass. We only use the best materials to construct our sash windows, the sashes and frames are made from pressure treated grade 1 redwood and our sills are made from grade 1 European oak.
Sash windows are made up of one or more movable panels (sashes) that form the frame which holds the glass. Most sash windows usually open by sliding either vertically or horizontally using cords and weights with a pulley system which means you can have a window that can open in several ways either from the top or bottom or even leaving a smaller opening on both which can be great for ventilation as cool air can enter the property from the bottom whilst the warmer air can escape at the top therefore sash windows can be very practical.
Wooden sliding Sash Windows are mainly found on Victorian and Georgian properties, so if your home is from this era our new box sash windows may be an option to bring back the traditional and smart look to your home or if you are looking to build a new home with a look from either of these periods in time why not contact us to discuss your needs.
